Michel GARCIA是植物學家、化學家、天然染料學家及自然主義倡導者。他是法國Assoc. Couleur Garance, Lauris(1998年成立)的創辦人,並於2002年成立Le Jardin Conservatoire de Plantes Tinctoriales(染料植物花園)為化學家、天然染料研究人員及植物學家們提供植物 研究資源。他對開發天然染色技術極具貢獻。Michel GARCIA致力於推廣天然染料的歷史 以及傳授天然染色的方法。

Jack Lenor LARSEN (美國)
Textile Designer; Author; Collector; Founder, LongHouse Reserve, NY

Jack Lenor LARSEN,世界著名的紡織品設計師、作家及收藏家,是傳統與現代紡織結合的 倡导者。他於1952年成立自己的公司。在過去的五十年裏,LARSEN公司已逐步發展為提 供鮮明特色紡織品的知名品牌。「Larsen Look」是LARSEN先生自創並獲獎的一種手工編 織布料,採用天然紗線及隨機而重複的織法,可以稱為二十 紀紡織品設計的代名詞。作 為一個創新設計師,LARSEN先生曾獲得許多獎項,也是僅有的四位在法國巴黎羅浮宮舉 行展覽的美國設計師之一。

Makiko MINAGAWA (日本)

在1971年加入三宅一生設計事務所擔任紡織設計師之前,Makiko MINAGAWA是一名獨 立設計師。2000年起,她成為Haat,Issey Miyake的創作總監。1989年講談社出版的《紋理》記錄了她17年間的作品。她獲得過許多時裝及設計獎項,也在日本舉辦過個人展覽。

Xiao-Ming TAO (HK) 陶肖明(香港)
紡織科學家, 香港理工大學講座教授 演講主題

“設計中的技術:智能纖維,紡織與服裝” 
“Technology in Design: Smart Fibers, Textiles, and Clothing”

陶肖明教授是香港 工大學紡織及製衣學系講座教授。她指導的在智慧織物,納米技術, 光子纖維及布料,可擕式電子與光子設備,紗線製造和紡織合成材料方面的研究享譽國際 盛名。她也是被美國ISI資料庫認可的1%全球引用數最高的材料科學家。以其對科學探索 的執著追求,陶肖明教授在新技術的研發上極具創造力,比如扭妥環錠紗新型紡紗專利技 術。她研發的光子布料結合科技與藝術,並曾受邀在Tokyo Museum of Future及香港藝術館 展出。陶肖明教授是現任《Textile Progress》的主編,她也是10多個重點學術期刊的編委會 成員。她是剛卸任的國際紡織學會世界會長,也是該學會的院士。她也是美國機械師工程 學會院士及英國皇家藝術學會院士。201 年,陶肖明教授獲得由國際紡織學會頒授榮譽院 士,這是在紡織領域中最高級別的個人成就。

Feng ZHAO (CHINA) 
Director, China National Silk Museum, Hangzhou;
Expert on Chinese ancient textiles 
“Textiles from Dunhuang and Silk Road”

Dr. Feng Zhao is a world authority on ancient Chinese textiles. Dr. Zhao has published widely in his field of expertise and researched Silk Road textiles at major museums throughout the world, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Musee Guimet in Paris, and the Victoria & Albert and British Museums in London. Trained as a textile technician, Dr. Zhao has analyzed textiles dating from the Warring States period (475-221 BCE) to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and has been responsible for several important exhibitions and catalogues that highlighted finds from the deserts of Western China through which the famed Silk Road passed. He is currently executive director of China National Silk Museum, Hangzhou; the director of Chinese Centre for Textile Identification and Conservation (CCTIC), Hangzhou; and Professor for History of Textiles and Costume at Donghua University, Shanghai.

Vassilis ZIDIANAKIS (GR)
Co-Founder and Artistic Director, ATOPOS Contemporary Visual Culture
“Ptychoseis = Fold + Pleats :: Drapery from Ancient Greek Dress to 21st Century Fashion”
Vassilis Zidianakis is a Co-founder and Artistic Director of ATOPOS, an Athens-based, nonprofit cultural organisation which aims to bring modern technologies together with fashion, design and contemporary art. Founded in 2003, it operates as an international, cultural think-tank as well as an experimental forum for visual culture. Mr. Zidianakis was co-curator of several landmark exhibitions including “Amphia-Vestments of the Eastern Orthodox Church” at the Benaki Museum (1999);  “Ptychoseis= Folds + Pleats :: Drapery from Ancient Greek Dress to 21st Century Fashion” at the Benaki Museum Annex (2004) ; and curator of “RRRIPP!! Paper Fashion,” an exhibition presented in Athens at the Benaki Museum Annex (2007). Background education includes ethnology, anthropology,  history and civilization at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris; costume design with Costumer Ioanna Papantoniou of Greece; and design with Director and Set Designer Robert Wilson at the Watermill Centre in Long Island, NY.
